FundLife successfully hold the second Coppa Leyteño football tournament



To welcome another year of learning, purposeful play and to celebrate the power of football, FundLife organized Coppa Leyteno (part 1) last Feb. 8, 2020, at Brgy. Sampaguita covered gym.​


This year’s Coppa Leyteno allowed 85 children to participate in a friendly tournament. 49 of whom were boys and 36 were girls.


In the boy's division, 8 teams vied to win and Barkada Football Club emerged as champions while Sagkahan National High School won 1st runners up.


Carlo Gerez, with his athleticism and good actions in the court was awarded as the Most Valuable Player. Jason Nacenopa got the Golden Boot award while Ken Jordan received the Golden Gloves award.





In the girl’s division, a total of six teams competed, in the end, the Thirsty Girls won the championship while San Isidro landed 1st runners up.


The small but definitely can take on players double her size, Janelle Sillave unquestionably won the MVP award for girls division. Jessica Nengasca received the Golden Boot award while Desire Sillave got the Golden Gloves award.


Children from the expansion site of the Football for Life Academy program were welcomed during the event.


The tournament also marked the start of the numerous events that FundLife hopes to organize in 2020 with the children in vulnerable communities and schools.


The part 2 of the tournament which is for the Kids division is still yet to be scheduled as a new mandate was issued in response to the threat of New Corona Virus (nCoV).
