Young Footballers participate in Dreams in Colour Football Festival
October 29 - FundLife in partnership with the Department of Education Southern Leyte Division and Local Government Unit of Anahawan, Southern Leyte organized a Football Tournament on October 29, 2022, at Anahawan Central School playgrounds.
The tournament was participated by about 250 players, parents, and teachers. Boys and Girls from different schools under the School District of Anahawan Southern Leyte had fun competing in the 15-year-old and under category.
A friendly team of girls from Tacloban City under the Football For Life Academy program also took part in the event.
The activity primarily aims to give an opportunity to young boys and girls to participate in friendly football tournaments and gain friends, while imbibing the virtues of a good sport. The activity specifically aims to introduce FundLife and its sports for development engagements with children in the local force of Southern Leyte and to celebrate happiness, bright colors, and the spirit of all young people coming together and just having fun.
The tournament also emphasized fair play, good sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and discipline inside and outside the pitch.
Aside from the opportunity to play competitive football, the participants also received their football jersey shirts and DIC learning packs.
The packs contained school supplies and hygiene kits that student-athletes like them surely need.
''This is truly a great opportunity for us as an institution to partner with an organization who do could not only capacitate us educators but also directly help the needs of these children - with their school supply needs and of course the need to enjoy their time and to play,'' said Mr. Sandro Sabino, the Public School District Supervisor (PSDS) of DepEd Anahawan School District.
