Tanauan, Leyte - FundLife International, in collaboration with Arsenal FC coaches, launched its newest platform under the FFLA programme – the Champions ClassroomSessions.
Held first at the Tanauan School of Craftsmanship and Home Industries Campus last 12 January 2018, the Champions Classroom Sessions is designed to reinforce the values acquired on the field in a classroom setting.
Arsenal Coaches Etienne and Henry, and FFLA coaches JP and Pao, with FFLA players during the first Champions Classroom Sessions at the Tanauan School of Craftsmanship and Home Industries.
From field to classroom
FFLA coaches take on the role of educators as they deliver experiential classroom learning sessions that underline and instill values to further support the players’ progress through soft-skills development and critical thinking. Through these sessions, they are encouraged to come up with problem-solving ideas to certain situations that they face in their communities.
The sessions come in forms of engaging classroom activities, and highlight football champions' stories that the kids can take inspiration from. The coaches devise each lesson to be interactive, thus making learning fun for the FFLA players.

In an article published on Health Guidance, author Mark Thomas wrote, “Role models are highly important for us psychologically, helping to guide us through life during our development, to make important decisions that affect the outcome of our lives, and to help us find happiness later in life”.
In the same light, the Champions Classroom Sessions fortifies the importance of values such as commitment and respect by introducing role models who overcame adversity; something that can positively impact and inspire the FFLA players.

The Champions Classroom Sessions follows a structured curriculum that will be delivered over the course of 9 months. Each session supports a framework that is designed not only to inculcate values and share champions’ stories, but also to teach essential football skills such as dribbling, passing, and ball control among others.
With the help of Arsenal in the Community gappers, FFLA coaches are set to bring the Champions Classroom Sessions to other FFLA partner schools including Palo National High School and San Jose National High School.
