Hailed as one of the outstanding partners of the Department of Education, Tacloban City Division, FundLife received its fourth ‘’Katambulig Award’’ during the 2022 Brigada Eskwela Best Implementing School and Stakeholders Pasidungog on January 26, 2023.
Since 2019, FundLife has been recognized by DepEd for its steadfast and profound partnership with the Schools Division of Tacloban City, a partnership that has greatly contributed to the successful implementation of the DepEd Basic Education Learning Recovery and Continuity Plan. We’re happy to say FundLife did it again for the School Year (SY) 2022-2023.
Through its study support classes, play-based learning sessions, and mentorships, FundLife engaged learners who were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, disasters, and other issues which ultimately lead to their learning gap.
Learners who were identified with learning deficits were given access to additional teacher support and provided with school supplies and hygiene kits. They were also encouraged to take part in various learning activities which motivated them to stay in school and re-envision a positive future for themselves.
A total of 656 academically challenged learners benefited from the support provided by FundLife in the SY 2022 – 2023 amidst the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, typhoons, and other weather disturbances.
‘’DepEd Tacloban has long been in partnership with benevolent stakeholders in the city who extend their utmost support to the city - the NGOs, NGA, Local Government Unit (LGU) representatives, and individuals. We value not only the support continually extended to our school's division but most importantly the outstanding partnership that we have established with you.
No one who achieves success does so with the help of others. The wise and confident acknowledge this help with gratitude. So, with this, partnership rises when there is gratitude,’’ said Mariza S. Magan, CESO V, the Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Tacloban Division in her inspirational message during the awarding ceremony.
She also emphasized that putting value in the connection and partnerships will definitely lead to success and this kind of partnership is significant to education. Highlighted in her speech was the development in the community that this partnership aims to bring moving forward.
‘’As educators we need our best to mold our young learners, to prepare them to become productive contributors to our society,’’ Magan continued.
As a committed partner, FundLife pledged to continue its support to DepEd together with LGU representatives, NGOs, NGA, and individuals present during the ceremony.
