Last March 19, 2022, FundLife International, Girls Got This, and Linde Philippines organized a one day learning session with the selected communities in Mandaue, Cebu. A total of 64 adolescent girls from different communities in Mandaue namely Banilad, Cabancalan, and Subangdaku attended this learning session.
Coinciding with the International Women’s Month Celebration with the campaign theme “#BreakTheBias”, several FundLife staff and youth mentors facilitated the sessions on “Self-Awareness” wherein the girls were tasked to create their own “Identity Map” to present their unique personalities, and “Guess the Person” wherein the girls were introduced to famous Filipinas who broke the barriers when it comes to gender stereotyping in different areas of expertise such as leadership, science, literature, theater and sports.
After the learning session, each girl received a Safe-At-Home Pack which aims to protect the adolescent girls while they are forced to learn from home. Each pack contains Girls Got This’ Stay-At-Home Activity Book, Stationery Learning Kits such as notebook, ballpens, pencils and sharpeners, and Female Hygiene Kits such as toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, alcohol and sanitary pads.
