FundLife announces new integrated community and learning center for children in Tacloban North

We are thrilled to formally announce that FundLife, with support from Generation Amazing - an initiative led by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ - will deliver our first integrated learning centre for children from displaced communities in Tacloban North.

The news comes after several visits from Generation Amazing representatives to Tacloban and positive meetings with Tacloban City Officials about the need to create more sporting and educational opportunities for youth affected by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).

When complete, the Generation Amazing Community Center (GACC) will be a 1,200 sq/m community-owned space. The purpose-built structure will include a multi-purpose sports hall, integrated learning and employment training room, community canteen offering healthy and affordable meals as well as a community co-study and co-working space.

The structure will sit in Tacloban North, strategically situated between several post-Yolanda resettlement communities and will be accessible to over 30,000 children that currently lack access to structured sports or football training.

The project was made possible by Tacloban Mayor, Alfred Romualdez, who backed the land to be developed for community development and is a committed supporter to ensure even more opportunities are given to motivated children from Tacloban.

An opening ceremony for the centre will be held in May 2020; following construction completion, the space will act as the primary venue for the Girls Community League, Tacloban (GCL Tacloban).
