From April 8 to 10, 2025, FundLife had the privilege of hosting Mr. Srsen Matej, a Consultant from the UEFA Foundation for Children, for a special three-day visit aimed at monitoring and evaluating UEFA-funded initiatives. The visit provided an opportunity for Mr. Matej to witness firsthand the impact of FundLife’s programs on the ground and engage directly with the youth, mentors, and communities we serve.

The visit began on April 8 with a warm welcome from FundLife’s Youth Mentors and staff. Ms. Kimberly Lopez, FundLife’s Head of Operations, presented the GCL 2024 Annual Project Report, highlighting key accomplishments and powerful stories from partner communities. Mr. Matej also gave a brief reorientation on the purpose of his visit and shared an overview of the activities planned during his time with FundLife, setting the tone for meaningful engagement and reflection.

On April 9, the visit continued at Sagkahan National High School, where a special futsal session focusing on anti-bullying and youth inclusivity was facilitated by intern Mon Alfred M. Espino. Mr. Matej and Ms. Lopez were present to observe the session, engage with participants, and witness how play-based sessions are being used to address social challenges and promote positive values among young people.

The final day, April 10, took place at Antonio Balmes National High School, where a futsal session centered on road safety was held. Mr. Matej joined FundLife Youth Mentors and interns in facilitating the session, further immersing himself in the program’s participatory approach and strengthening connections with the local youth.

Mr. Matej’s visit underscored the value of field-level interaction in evaluating the success and relevance of community-based initiatives. His presence not only highlighted the UEFA Foundation’s commitment to supporting grassroots impact but also served as a powerful reminder of the importance of collaboration in creating safe, inclusive spaces for young people to learn, grow, and dream in color.
