On August 16, 2025, FundLife, together with the Sangguniang Kabataan Council of Brgy. 97 and other youth organizations, led a Coastal Clean-Up Drive along the coastal line of Brgy. 97 Cabalawan, Tacloban City, as part of the global celebration of the International Youth Day.

The activity was designed to highlight the role of youth in protecting the environment and promoting sustainable practices. FundLife supported the initiative by mobilizing its local youth mentors, reinforcing its commitment to empowering young people as leaders of change.

This involvement also forms part of FundLife’s 2025 project partnership with youth groups, which was established to collaborate on monthly WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) and environmental initiatives aimed at creating safer and healthier communities.

During the clean-up, participants worked hand in hand to collect plastic waste, discarded materials and other litter along the coast. Beyond the environmental benefits, the event served as a platform for youth to demonstrate responsibility, with leadership and teamwork.

“Joining the coastal clean-up reminded me that even small actions can make a big difference for our environment. It feels rewarding to work together toward one purpose, and it shows that simple efforts, when done collectively, can create a lasting impact,” said Daniel, one of FundLife's youth mentors.

The event formed part of FundLife’s ongoing mission to create safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces for youth, extending beyond classrooms and sports fields into environmental stewardship. By working with the SK Council and grassroots youth groups, FundLife strengthened its vision of youth-led action for sustainable development.

Through this clean-up drive, the community showed unity and commitment to creating a cleaner and safer environment for both people and marine life. For FundLife, it also reaffirmed the value of youth-led action and strengthened its partnership with grassroots groups to advance WASH and environmental initiatives in 2025 and beyond.
