FundLife Hosts First Quarter All-Sites Tournament to Celebrate Youth Participation and Football Excellence

Tacloban City – FundLife successfully held its First Quarter All-Sites Tournament at the Generation Amazing Community Club (GACC), bringing together young athletes from various schools and communities across Tacloban, Palo, and Dulag. The event aimed to recognize consistent youth participation in football and assess their knowledge and skill development in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. The tournament gathered learners from elementary and high school levels, providing them with a platform to showcase teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship through play. 


The morning featured the Under-13 Mixed Category, where both boys and girls competed in friendly yet competitive matches. Lorenzo Daa Elementary School - Team A emerged as champions, followed by Tigbao-Diit Elementary School A in first place and Lorenzo Daa Elementary School - Team B in second. Special recognition was given through the Mythical Five Awards, with Charity from Lorenzo Daa receiving both the Best Forward and Golden Boot awards. Jonas from Tigbao-Diit was named Best Goalkeeper, Avheryl from Lorenzo Daa earned Best Defender, and John Paul, also from Lorenzo Daa, was hailed as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP). These awards highlighted the standout talents among the youngest players.



In the afternoon, the spotlight shifted to high school learners who competed in the U-18 category, with separate sets for girls and boys. For the U-18 Girls division, Antonio Balmes National High School dominated the field and claimed the championship title. Scandinavian National High School and Sagkahan National High School placed first and second, respectively. Rialyn of Antonio Balmes National High School (ABNHS) was named MVP and Best Forward, while her teammate Elaiza won the Golden Boot award. Other awardees included Hannah from Scandinavian National High School as Best Goalkeeper and Joan (ABNHS) as Best Back Defender.


In the U-18 Boys division, GACC - Team B secured the championship title, closely followed by GACC - Team A and Sagkahan National High School - Team B in first and second places. John Rod of GACC-San Isidro stood out, earning both the MVP and Best Back Defender titles. Marc John (GACC-San Isidro) was honored with the Golden Boot award, and Ivan Dave (GACC-UNDP Lions) was named Best Goalkeeper. Matt of Sagkahan National High School was recognized as Best Forward, rounding out the Mythical Five. These awards celebrated the dedication and potential of youth who have consistently participated in FundLife's football sessions.



The tournament welcomed students from multiple schools including Kapuso Village Integrated School, Ridgeview Park Integrated School, Antonio Balmes National High School, Scandinavian National High School, Sagkahan National High School, Lorenzo Daa and Tigbao Diit Elementary Schools in Tacloban, as well as Libertad Elementary School in Palo and Cabacungan National High School and Dulag National High School in Dulag. Communities such as San Isidro and Lion’s Village were also represented, showing the widespread reach of FundLife’s programming. This inter-community engagement emphasized FundLife’s commitment to using the power of purposeful play to unite and empower young learners.


FundLife’s next All-Sites Tournament will be held in the second quarter of 2025, reinforcing its ongoing mission to create educational and empowering spaces through sport. These quarterly tournaments not only develop athletic skills but also foster life skills, leadership, and positive values among youth. By continuing to provide platforms like these, FundLife ensures that every child is safe, supported, and enabled to dream in colour.
