Tacloban City - FundLife International is delighted to announce a partnership with Arsenal in the Community, which will see two coaches from the club’s ‘Gap Year’ scheme join the Football for Life (F4L) programme in the Philippines for three months.
Arsenal in the Community, the charitable arm of Arsenal Football Club, started in 1985 as a platform to engage children in positive practice through sport. Since its inception, the program has expanded to a vast array of community initiatives in the UK and worldwide, aimed at developing both children and adults alike.
The two coaches will be spending the next three months in Tacloban working with local mentors and improving F4L impact to over 1,000 children. Alan Sefton, Head of Arsenal in the Community, commented “We are delighted to be sending coaches from our Gap Year programme to the Philippines. FundLife’s Football for Life programme shares our values of using football as a means to support education. I am sure everyone involved will benefit greatly.”

The two coaches will be assisting football practices and Homework Club sessions to support F4L in further improving its existing network of football and education mentors across the Leyte region.
F4L started as a post-disaster play intervention and has evolved into a holistic education programme that seeks to restore hope, purpose, and identity to children from disparity communities. ~
