Joining the local government of Tacloban in commemorating the 8th anniversary of Typhoon Haiyan, FundLife hosted a series of activities on November 8-9, 2021, for the children and youth the organization has significantly impacted through the years.
FundLife, founded in 2014, believes in a simple yet unflinching principle – that no child should be denied quality education and equitable opportunities to reach their fullest potential. Ever since it was established in Tacloban, it has been working relentlessly to embody this principle.
This year, we look back into the lives of the children and youth that we’ve touched after Typhoon Haiyan and focus on the significant changes they had because of their involvement in various activities initiated by the organization.
On November 8, 2021, a total of 50 children and youth from Brgy. New Kawayan, Tacloban City, received Dream Packs from the organization.
Since 2020, school dropouts have been reported, and the mental health well-being of the children have been affected. With these packs, the organization hopes to keep the children safe and continue learning and keep them healthy and bonded with their families through sports equipment included in the packs.
The 50 children and youth are the current recipients of the COVID-19 initiatives of FundLife.
A Mobile Photography Contest and On-The-Spot Poster-Making Contest took place on November 9, 2021, at the Tacloban City Youth Hub.
The theme for the commemoration is “Youth Then and Now: Transforming Lives, Creating a Bright Future.”
