Since its partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) Tacloban Division began in 2017, FundLife has consistently been recognized as a Most Outstanding Partner. Over the years, the organization has stood alongside other notable local NGOs, government agencies, media organizations, and private individuals in advancing education in Tacloban.
At this year’s Gawad Dungog Awarding Ceremony, FundLife achieved its highest distinction yet—the “Icons of Partnership” award. This prestigious honor is conferred on individuals or groups whose collaborations have significantly impacted the educational community. Representing FundLife to receive the award were Head of Operations Ms. Kimberly O. Lopez and Stakeholders Engagement Officer Ms. Maria Victoria Basilla-Yee.
The ceremony featured a keynote address from Dr. Evelyn Fetalvero, Regional Director of DepEd Region VIII. She expressed gratitude to partners like FundLife, stating, “You have been a strong ally of the Department of Education, and we hope that you continue to do so. Please continue helping one another because every contribution matters. Let us remain steadfast in advancing education for every Filipino child.” Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Sherlita A. Palma reinforced these sentiments by expressing heartfelt gratitude to the awardees and emphasizing the vital role of sustained and meaningful partnerships in enhancing Tacloban's educational environment.
FundLife’s initiatives, including the Football for Life Academy Program, Life Skills Plus Program, and the Leadership Academy - Reach to Teach Project, have positively impacted over 4,000 learners. These programs focus on providing vulnerable youth with equal opportunities to access education and life skills, empowering them to break free from the cycle of poverty.
