On May 17, 2025, the basketball court of Brgy. Rawis in Dulag, Leyte, became the vibrant backdrop for the highly anticipated Summer Cup 2025 — a futsal tournament that brought together young learners from various communities across the region. The event was not just a display of athletic talent but a powerful reflection of the dedication, teamwork, and growth fostered through FundLife’s mentorship programs. Held in the heart of Dulag, the Summer Cup served as a platform for youth to showcase their skills, but more importantly, it celebrated the transformative power of purposeful play in a community where the spirit of learning and empowerment thrives.
The tournament marked the culmination of weeks of hard work and practice under the guidance of FundLife’s dedicated Youth Mentors. These mentors played a pivotal role in nurturing not only the athletic abilities of the participants but also their personal growth, instilling values like discipline, resilience, and leadership. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students of Rawis Elementary School, Cabacungan National High School (CBNHS), Dulag National High School (DNHS), and the Brgy. Rawis Community, as well as their peers from Sagkahan National High School (SNHS) and the GACC Community.
The futsal matches were divided into two categories — Primary Level (Mixed Category) and Secondary Level, with the young athletes competing in friendly yet spirited games that highlighted not only their football skills but their sportsmanship. The results were a testament to the participants' dedication and the quality of mentorship they had received. In the Primary Level, GACC emerged as the overall champion, with Rawis B, Rawis C, and Rawis A taking the subsequent runner-up spots. In the Secondary Level, SNHS claimed the championship title, while DNHS, CBNHS A, and CBNHS B rounded out the top spots.
Individual awards were also presented to those who stood out in their respective categories, including Best Forward, Best Defender, Best Goalkeeper, Golden Boot, and the coveted Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors. These recognitions highlighted the players’ commitment not just to the sport but to the values of teamwork, respect, and excellence that FundLife encourages in all its activities.
The Summer Cup 2025 in Dulag, Leyte was an embodiment of FundLife’s mission to empower children and youth through education, protection, and play-based learning.
