Know more about our FundLife Youth Coach Mentor Patty's journey!
Back in 2014, FundLife tapped the expertise of local football coaches to spearhead the Football For Life Academy program, a psychosocial therapy support for children and youth survivors of Typhoon Haiyan.
Coach Patty started as an assistant football coach, and became senior coach by 2015. As Senior Coach, Coach Patty took lead in conducting play-based learning sessions for children in and out of school. She also supported organized community and school-based football tournaments in Tacloban.
In 2016, Coach Patty pursued other opportunities abroad, and later taught at a University back in the Philippines. With her heart still in youth development and football, Coach Patty constantly volunteered her time and effort to help out on FFLA during her teaching years. Not long after, Coach Patty realized her love for the children and what we do in FundLife, she decided to work as a Football Coach and Youth Mentor in 2020.
At present, Coach Patty is now the Head of Youth Learning and leads FundLife and Football For Life Academy's Youth Mentorship Programs, Staff Development activities, and her first love: football coaching with the communities. We are so grateful and proud of Coach Patty for helping us at FundLife and FFLA touch and inspire more young lives through football.
